IDF Finds Weapons, Shafts in Qalqilya; Tunnel Suspicion Ruled Out
Israeli security forces, including the IDF, Border Police, and Shin Bet, conducted an operation in Qalqilya overnight to locate weapons based on intelligence information. During the operation, two shafts approximately 12 meters deep were discovered. Nearby, forces found an M16 rifle, a hunting rifle, a pistol, and ammunition.
Four individuals suspected of terrorist activity were arrested in connection with the operation. The IDF clarified that after investigating the shafts, the presence of a tunnel route was ruled out. It was also determined that the shafts were not close to the seam line, which separates Israel from the West Bank.
Security forces are continuing their operations in the area to locate additional shafts and weapons. The operation highlights ongoing efforts to counter potential threats originating from the West Bank.
