Tunnel and Weapons Cache Discovered Near Kfar Saba

Security forces have uncovered a tunnel and a significant weapons cache in Qalqilya, just kilometers from the Israeli city of Kfar Saba and close to residential areas. The tunnel, which had reached a depth of at least 25 meters, was discovered during an operation by the Judea and Samaria District's Special Patrol Unit and Border Police. Forces also found the beginnings of a second tunnel being excavated in the same area.

The discovery was made following intelligence gathering, leading to a raid on a compound within the city. Alongside the tunnels, a cache of weapons was found, including a sniper rifle, an M16 assault rifle, a large quantity of ammunition, and fertilizer, a key component in the manufacturing of explosive devices. Mobile phones and a DVR recording device were also seized.

Four suspects were arrested at the scene and taken for questioning regarding the purpose of the excavation and the possession of weapons so close to the seam line, the boundary between Israel and the West Bank. Police stated they will continue proactive operations to uncover such infrastructure and bring those involved to justice.
