Deep Tunnel and Weapons Cache Discovered Under Palestinian City
Israeli security forces uncovered a partially excavated tunnel, at least 25 meters deep, beneath the West Bank city of Qalqilya. The discovery was made during a joint operation by the Samaria Counter-Crime Unit and the West Bank Border Police.
During the search, forces also found the beginnings of a second tunnel. The operation, based on precise intelligence, led to the seizure of weapons, including an M16 rifle and a sniper rifle, along with ammunition, magazines, phones, fertilizer (used for explosives), and a DVR device.
Four suspects were arrested in connection with the findings and taken for questioning. The tunnel's depth and the types of materials found suggest it was intended for significant illicit activities, potentially including smuggling or as a base for attacks.
