National Security Minister Ben-Gvir Vows Not to Be Deterred After Assassination Plot Revealed
Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir stated on Wednesday that he would not be deterred by an 11th assassination attempt, following the Shin Bet's exposure of a terrorist cell from Nablus that planned to kill him using an explosive drone. Ben-Gvir asserted that the enemies are fearful of his potential future role as Defense Minister, emphasizing his uncompromising approach.
"This is the 11th time they have tried to assassinate me, and the Holy One, Blessed be He, saves me from their hands," Ben-Gvir said. "I have a message for all those enemies: this will not deter me and will not frighten me."
He vowed to continue his current policies, including a "tough policy in the prisons," the demolition of illegal construction in the Negev, and the implementation of the death penalty law. Ben-Gvir also mentioned meeting some of the terrorists who had previously attempted to assassinate him in prison last week, describing them as fearful and unable to meet his gaze.
The Shin Bet revealed the plot, which also included plans to kidnap a soldier, on Tuesday. The terrorist cell was reportedly operating out of Nablus.
