Terror Cell Planning Assassination of Israeli Minister Ben-Gvir Uncovered
The Israel Police's special operations unit (YAMAM) and the Shin Bet security agency have exposed a terrorist cell from Nablus (Shechem) that had planned a series of attacks. According to the indictment, the two suspects possessed a wide arsenal of weapons, recruited additional operatives, and conducted live-fire training.
In 2024, the pair planned to assassinate National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir using an explosive-laden drone. This plot was reportedly inspired by a video showing Ben-Gvir arriving at the scene of a previous attack. One of the operatives even attempted to purchase drone parts from China for the assassination attempt.
In addition to the drone plot, the cell had also planned shooting attacks, ramming attacks using explosive-laden vehicles, and the kidnapping of IDF soldiers. Indictments have been filed against the suspects, and they have been detained until the end of legal proceedings.
