Terror Cell Planned Soldier Kidnapping, Assassination Attempt on Minister Ben-Gvir
Two Palestinians from Nablus have been indicted for planning a series of attacks, including kidnapping a soldier and attempting to assassinate National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. The indictments were announced Wednesday by the police and the Shin Bet security agency.
The cell, comprised of two individuals, acquired numerous weapons and sought to recruit and train additional operatives. According to the indictment, after watching a video of the minister arriving at a terror attack scene, one operative suggested a "pulling attack," waiting for Ben-Gvir's arrival and then assassinating him. The operative also proposed using an explosive drone for the assassination and attempted to procure drone parts from China for this purpose.
The two suspects' detention was extended by the court, and the Samaria Military Prosecutor's Office filed indictments against them. They will remain in custody until the legal proceedings conclude.
