Terror Cell Indicted for Plotting Soldier Kidnapping, Attack on Minister Ben-Gvir
The military prosecution has filed indictments against two members of a terror cell operating near Nablus (Shechem), who are suspected of planning a series of attacks and the kidnapping of an IDF soldier. The indictment also details their alleged plot to assassinate National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir using an explosive-laden drone.
According to the indictment, the two individuals were active from late 2023, acquiring numerous weapons including Kalashnikov rifles, handguns, a hunting rifle, and ammunition to advance their "military" activities. They are also accused of recruiting and training additional operatives and discussing various attack methods targeting Israeli civilians and security forces.
During their investigation, it was revealed that in 2024, the suspects conceived the idea of carrying out an attack against Minister Ben-Gvir. Subsequently, one of the individuals proposed using an explosive drone for the assassination attempt.
