IDF Chief of Staff Warns Enemies After Surprise Readiness Drill

The Israeli military's Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, visited the "Dawn's Price 2.0" surprise readiness drill, which tested the IDF's preparedness for a multi-front war scenario initiated by surprise.

During the drill, held at the Ground Forces Training Center, forces practiced responding to a sudden, complex, and large-scale multi-front event. Halevi was accompanied by senior officers including the Head of the Operations Directorate, the General Officer Commanding the Southern Command, and commanders of various divisions and brigades.

The drill assessed the forces' readiness, the activation of reserves, decision-making processes, and operational responses across all IDF levels. It is part of an ongoing effort to enhance the fitness and readiness of soldiers and commanders, incorporating lessons learned from combat and the events of October 7th, as part of preparations for the upcoming holiday period.

Halevi stated that the exercise is a further step in implementing lessons from October 7th and examining the IDF's readiness for surprise warfare. He emphasized the demand for the highest standards from every soldier and command level. "We are changing, correcting, and strengthening everything necessary to be better prepared for any scenario," he said.

Addressing potential adversaries, Halevi declared the drill also sends a message externally. "The IDF is capable, prepared, and ready to defend the State of Israel, and also ready to initiate and attack anyone who tries to harm us," he stated. "Our message is clear: anyone who tries to harm the State of Israel and its citizens will encounter a determined, prepared, and ready IDF, and will pay an immediate and very heavy price for it."
