IDF Launches Surprise Drill to Boost Readiness Ahead of Holidays

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has initiated a large-scale surprise exercise codenamed "Dawn Rise 2.0" to assess decision-making processes and operational responses across all levels. The drill involves personnel from regional commands, branches, and the General Staff, aiming to enhance defense capabilities in anticipation of the upcoming holiday season.

During the exercise, commanders and forces were rapidly deployed, reserves were evaluated, and operational plans were implemented. The IDF is also incorporating lessons learned from recent combat operations and the events of October 7th. The Chief of Staff is overseeing the drill from the IDF's Supreme Command Post and in the field.

Concurrently, regular and reserve officers from the Military Advocate General's Corps are conducting surprise inspections of units and headquarters to verify operational readiness and fitness. This activity is part of the Operations Directorate's training schedule for 2026.

Residents across Israel may observe increased movement of security forces and aircraft nationwide. The IDF emphasized that there is no concern of an imminent security incident.
