IDF Chief of Staff Oversees Surprise Drill Simulating Multi-Front War
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, initiated a surprise, multi-theater war simulation drill on Sunday. The exercise, codenamed "Dawn's Rise 2.0," is part of the IDF's preparations for the upcoming holiday season and aims to integrate lessons learned from the October 7th attacks.
The drill is taking place concurrently with ongoing operational events in various sectors. During the exercise, Lt. Gen. Halevi convened a situation assessment with the General Staff Forum. He evaluated the capabilities of command centers and forces in responding to a sudden, multi-front scenario and assessed the IDF's overall readiness for diverse operational challenges.
"We are in a tense and volatile period across all fronts, and we are preparing for the upcoming holiday season," Lt. Gen. Halevi stated. "We continue to learn lessons, and as I have defined, the fundamental state of the entire IDF is readiness for a surprise attack."
