Israeli Forces Disrupt Hamas Infrastructure Near Jenin, Seize Weapons

Israeli security forces announced the disruption of a Hamas infrastructure in the town of Aqaba, near Jenin, during a large-scale operation conducted overnight. During the operation, forces discovered a locally manufactured rocket shell without a launcher, which was destroyed on-site. Other weapons seized included an M16 rifle and significant quantities of explosives intended for making explosive devices.

Security forces reported the arrest of 10 Hamas operatives who were allegedly promoting plans for attacks against Israeli citizens. According to the military, one of the detainees revealed the location where weapons and explosives were being stored, leading to their immediate destruction by the forces.

In a related statement, Chief of Staff General Eyal Zamir described Israel as being in a "tense and volatile stage on all fronts." He emphasized the military's readiness to handle potential surprise attacks and its preparations for the upcoming Jewish holidays. Zamir made these remarks during a situation assessment conducted as part of a surprise drill, adding that the IDF continues to learn lessons from the events of October 7th.
