Israeli Forces Disrupt Hamas Terror Infrastructure in West Bank
Israeli security forces, including the National Counter-Terrorism Unit (YAMAM), the Shin Bet intelligence agency, and the IDF, conducted a large-scale operation overnight in the village of Aqaba, located in the Menashe Brigade area of the West Bank. The operation, which followed months of intelligence gathering by the Shin Bet, aimed to dismantle a Hamas terror infrastructure. During the raid, which was executed hours before planned attacks, forces apprehended ten Hamas operatives who were reportedly organizing terror activities in the village. Among the seized items was a rocket containing explosives, which was immediately detonated by bomb disposal experts. Further intelligence from one of the detainees led to the discovery of a cache of explosives intended for bomb manufacturing and a disassembled M16 rifle, hidden in a pit near a tree in a field outside the village. Both the explosives and the weapon were secured and destroyed or confiscated by security forces. The operation underscores the ongoing efforts by Israeli security agencies to proactively thwart terror threats in the West Bank and ensure the safety of Israeli citizens.
