צה"ל הודיע על הדחתו הסופית של סגן-אלוף א', ששימש כקצין המטה המבצעי (קמ"ן) של אוגדת עזה ב-7 באוקטובר. ההחלטה התקבלה בעקבות קביעת הרמטכ"ל, רא"ל אייל זמיר, שפורסמה ב-23 בנובמבר 2025, לפיה שורה של מפקדים בכירים נושאים באחריות פיקודית לאירועי אותו היום וכי יש מקום לנקוט צעדים פיקודיים נגדם. סגן-אלוף א' נמנה עם אותם מפקדים.

לאחר גיבוש חוות דעת של סגן הרמטכ"ל שהמליצה על התרת התחייבותו של הקצין, כלומר הדחתו בפועל, התנהלו בחודשים האחרונים הליכים לסיום שירותו. עתירות שהגיש הקצין בנושא נדחו, וכעת הוחלט על הדחתו הסופית.
