IDF Prepares Systematic Response Against Hezbollah in Southern Lebanon

A senior Israeli defense official stated on Wednesday that the IDF's Northern Command is advancing according to plan in scanning areas under Israeli operational control in southern Lebanon. The forces are locating and systematically destroying Hezbollah's terror infrastructure and weaponry, or transferring weapons to Israel depending on the situation. The official emphasized that Hezbollah fully understands the systematic nature of this destruction.

Israeli strikes, both ground and air, are conducted within areas controlled by Israel and coordinated with the Lebanese government. These operations focus on preventing Hezbollah from entering zones under Israeli operational control. The IDF aims to enable the Lebanese Army to implement a pilot program to enter areas where the IDF has not operated and dismantle Hezbollah infrastructure, though this has yet to occur. Israel has committed to the Americans to support this effort.

Regarding dozens of Hezbollah militants trapped in the Ali Taher ridge, the official declined to comment but noted they have limited water and food supplies for several weeks due to pre-prepared underground facilities. The official also refused to discuss a recent IDF strike on an engineering vehicle in southern Lebanon, stating the IDF acts prudently and does not rush to respond to every incident. However, he stressed that Israel will not accept any equation that allows infiltration into its territory and will continue removing threats to its forces.

The official concluded by highlighting the need for constant assessment and wise conduct, expressing strong respect for the Americans involved in the process.
