IDF Destroys Hezbollah Infrastructure in Southern Lebanon, Prepares for Escalation

Israeli forces have completed the takeover of the Ali Taher ridge in southern Lebanon, destroying Hezbollah's terror infrastructure established there over two decades with Iranian funding and planning. The destroyed infrastructure and command center were intended to serve as a base for Hezbollah to conquer the Galilee and allowed terrorists to control observation and fire on the Israeli towns of Metula and Kiryat Shmona. The operation completes the operational control of Israeli forces over the ridge, both above and below ground. The IDF is now preparing for the next phase, focusing on defending the area and preventing Hezbollah operatives from returning. The military stated it will remain in the security zone, continue destroying terror infrastructure, and thwart any attempts by Hezbollah to re-establish its capabilities. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz announced the completion of the security zone's organization in southern Lebanon, emphasizing that Israel will continue to defend its northern communities from within Lebanon and respond forcefully to any attacks on its citizens or forces.

In parallel, Israel is maintaining a high state of alert across all conflict zones, including Iran, Lebanon, the Gaza Strip, and the West Bank, particularly ahead of the Jewish High Holidays. The government has conveyed direct messages to Iran, warning that any attack would trigger a severe war, not a limited response. The IDF is preparing for potential multi-front escalation, with heightened operational activity expected in northern Israel. Local authorities in the Upper Galilee have informed residents of planned controlled explosions and strikes in the coming hours, assuring them there are no changes to public safety instructions.

Prime Minister Netanyahu also addressed Iran's nuclear ambitions, reaffirming his commitment to preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. He highlighted Israel's ongoing offensive actions against Iran's proxies, including operations in Gaza and the destruction of Hezbollah infrastructure on the Beaufort and Ali Taher ridges.
