Israel Destroys Hezbollah Underground Facility in Southern Lebanon

The Israeli military announced Thursday the completion of the destruction of a strategic underground facility belonging to Hezbollah, located in the Al-Taher heights area of southern Lebanon. The operation involved extensive preparatory work and full operational control of the region by the 36th Division forces.

The facility, which served as a central command post for Hezbollah's "Badr" unit, contained command and control rooms, weapons storage, and living quarters. Israeli forces also seized a large cache of weapons, including dozens of rockets, Iranian-made drones, anti-tank missiles, and hundreds of mines and explosive devices. The military stated that the complex, built over two decades, was planned and funded by Iran.

This operation occurred amidst heightened Israeli alert due to concerns of a potential Iranian response. Reports indicated that Tehran had issued strong warnings, threatening a significant counterattack if Israel proceeded with destroying the Al-Taher facility.

Simultaneously, residents in the Upper Galilee region were alerted by the regional council to the sounds of powerful explosions resulting from controlled demolitions carried out by the Israeli army. The sounds were reportedly heard across central Upper Galilee, the Ramim mountain range, the Hula Valley, and the Golan Heights. The Home Front Command's instructions for the public remained unchanged.

The Israeli military affirmed its commitment to continuing operations in the southern Lebanon security zone to neutralize threats, while also adhering to the ceasefire agreement.
