IDF Prepares for Multi-Front Scenarios After Lebanon Operation

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are preparing for a range of scenarios, including multi-front attacks, following recent operations in the Al-Tahir mountain range in southern Lebanon. These preparations come amid Iranian threats to retaliate against Israel for its actions in the Al-Tahir region. While the IDF is on heightened alert, there is currently no specific intelligence indicating an imminent response from Hezbollah or Iran.

The heightened readiness follows the IDF's completion of operations to destroy Hezbollah's underground infrastructure in the Al-Tahir area. Forces from Division 36, the Commando Brigade, and the Yahalom unit were involved in the operation, which lasted several months. They achieved operational control over the area, both above and below ground.

During the operation, the IDF uncovered an extensive underground network spanning over 5,400 meters across eight tunnels. These facilities contained dozens of Iranian-made rockets, missiles, and drones, along with explosive drones, machine guns, anti-tank missiles, hundreds of mines, explosives, and other weaponry. The IDF used over 1,100 tons of explosives to destroy these underground structures.

Additionally, a central command complex belonging to Hezbollah's "Badr" unit was discovered, containing command posts, weapons storage rooms, and living quarters. Following the operation, IDF forces are redeploying in the security zone in southern Lebanon and will continue to operate to neutralize threats and prevent Hezbollah from re-establishing its presence in the area.
