IDF Destroys Hezbollah Underground Weapons Cache in Southern Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) uncovered and neutralized an underground tunnel used by Hezbollah to store weapons in southern Lebanon. The operation, conducted by the 55th Brigade combat team and the Yahalom engineering unit under the 91st Division command, aimed to prevent attacks against Israel. During the mission, the forces discovered and destroyed a weapons cache containing anti-tank missiles, RPG rockets, artillery weapons, and numerous firearms including Kalashnikov rifles.

This activity is part of ongoing IDF efforts in the security zone of southern Lebanon to thwart Hezbollah's military capabilities. In recent weeks, the IDF reported uncovering thousands of Hezbollah infrastructures embedded within civilian villages, including command centers, observation posts, launch sites, and underground facilities. The military emphasized that Hezbollah has long embedded its operations within the local population, exploiting civilians and turning the area into a significant military zone.

The IDF's continued operations highlight the persistent threat posed by Hezbollah's militarization in southern Lebanon and Israel's commitment to countering it through targeted strikes and intelligence-driven missions.
