IDF Destroys Large Hezbollah Tunnel in Southern Lebanon Amid Ceasefire Violations
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recently destroyed a large underground tunnel used by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. The operation was carried out by the 55th Brigade combat team and Yahalom forces under the command of the 91st Division, as part of ongoing efforts to neutralize threats to Israel in the security zone. According to an IDF statement, the tunnel served as a storage site for weapons belonging to the terrorist organization Hezbollah.
In addition to demolishing the tunnel, the forces uncovered a significant cache of weapons, including Kalashnikov rifles, anti-tank missiles and launchers, artillery weapons, and RPG rockets. The IDF emphasized that it will not allow Hezbollah to harm Israeli civilians or soldiers and will continue to act to eliminate threats from the group. This operation comes amid ongoing ceasefire violations in the region.
The IDF released footage documenting the destruction of the tunnel and the seizure of the weapons, underscoring its commitment to maintaining security along Israel's northern border.
