IDF Destroys Hezbollah Terror Tunnels in South Lebanon After Ceasefire Violation

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) destroyed Hezbollah terror tunnels in the Bofor area of southern Lebanon overnight between Thursday and Friday, following a violation of the ceasefire agreement by the Shiite militant group. The underground tunnels were a key part of Hezbollah's planned invasion strategy targeting communities in Israel's Galilee region. Approximately 700 tons of explosives were used to demolish the tunnel network as part of the IDF's ongoing efforts to eliminate Hezbollah's terror infrastructure in southern Lebanon.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz announced the operation, emphasizing that Israel will not tolerate any breach of the ceasefire. They warned that any attempt by Hezbollah to harm Israeli forces or civilians would be met with a severe and forceful response, exacting a heavy price from the terrorist organization. The IDF stated it will maintain its presence in the security zone in southern Lebanon and continue dismantling terror infrastructure to prevent Hezbollah from rebuilding its capabilities.

This military action follows a blatant ceasefire violation by Hezbollah the previous day, underscoring Israel's commitment to securing its northern border and deterring future aggression from the group.
