IDF Destroys Hezbollah Underground Command Post Near UNIFIL Base in Southern Lebanon

Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) units from Brigade 401 and the Yahalom engineering unit located and destroyed an underground Hezbollah command post in southern Lebanon near the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) base. The operation took place on Tuesday in the village of Haddatha, where a 55-meter tunnel complex was found beneath a building producing construction materials, approximately 300 meters from a UNIFIL facility. The tunnel included three living chambers and served as a Hezbollah command center.

During the search, the IDF discovered an underground shaft containing dozens of weapons. After completing the operation, the forces demolished the tunnel and all related infrastructure. The IDF emphasized that this activity is part of ongoing efforts to prevent Hezbollah from reestablishing offensive capabilities near the Israeli border.

A military spokesperson stated, "The IDF will continue to act to remove any threat to its forces and will not allow the terrorist organization Hezbollah to harm Israeli civilians." The operation was conducted under the command of Division 91 and involved soldiers from Battalion 601 and Yahalom. The IDF reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining security in the southern Lebanon security zone.
