Inter Milan Prepares Major Squad Changes Ahead of Next Season

Inter Milan has finalized the signing of Israeli defender Anan Khalaily, making him the club's most expensive acquisition to date. This transfer marks the first significant addition to the squad for the upcoming season. The club has also secured goalkeeper Ivan Provedel from Lazio and is expected to complete the permanent signing of Manuel Akanji, who played for Inter last season. Alexander Stankovic may return from loan to join the first team.

Several players who were loaned out last season have returned but are not currently in the club's main plans. These include Christian Asllani from Besiktas, Abner Akinsanmiro from Pisa, and Benjamin Pavard. On the departures front, Inter sold Denzel Dumfries to Real Madrid for approximately 20 million euros, a key summer deal for the club. Other exits include defenders Francesco Acerbi and Matteo Darmian, and goalkeeper Yann Sommer, all leaving after their contracts expired. Stefan de Vrij transferred to Panathinaikos on a free transfer, while Sebastiano Esposito was sold to Cagliari for around 4 million euros.

Alessandro Bastoni, a central defensive pillar for Inter in recent years, is currently under investigation for alleged involvement in a case concerning payment for sex with a minor. Although no charges have been filed, his future at the club remains uncertain, with a possible summer departure still undecided.

Looking ahead, Inter is considering adding another key defender, with English center-back Trevor Chalobah among the targets. The club is also seeking midfield reinforcements, especially if Davide Frattesi leaves. Liverpool's Curtis Jones is a leading candidate, though negotiations face a price gap, with Liverpool asking around 40 million euros.

As the transfer window progresses, Inter's final squad composition remains unclear. Bastoni may continue as the defensive anchor, while Nicolo Barella is expected to remain a midfield leader. Up front, Inter will rely on strikers Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram to maintain their competitiveness in Italy and Europe.
