Maccabi Haifa Gains Nearly €3 Million From Anan Khalaily's Transfer to Inter Milan
Anan Khalaily's historic transfer from Union Saint-Gilloise to Inter Milan is set to bring a significant financial gain to Maccabi Haifa. The deal, valued at approximately €25 million before bonuses, follows Khalaily's original sale from Maccabi Haifa to Union Saint-Gilloise two years ago for €7.5 million. According to the agreement between the clubs, Maccabi Haifa is entitled to 15 percent of any future transfer fee exceeding the initial sale price. Consequently, the Israeli club will receive about €2.625 million from this clause, plus additional solidarity payments, totaling roughly €2.8 million.
Khalaily is expected to sign a five-year contract with Inter Milan, the Italian champions, earning around €2 million per season including bonuses. He is scheduled to travel to Milan within 48 hours for medical examinations ahead of finalizing the transfer. This move marks the largest transfer fee involving an Israeli footballer, surpassing previous records such as Munas Dabbur's €17 million move from Salzburg to Sevilla.
The transfer highlights Maccabi Haifa's strategic benefit from player development and sales, reinforcing their financial position in the football market. Khalaily's progression to a top European club also underscores the growing recognition of Israeli talent abroad.
