Anan Halaily Signs Record Deal With Inter Milan for 25 Million Euros

Israeli winger Anan Halaily is set to join Italian champions Inter Milan in a historic transfer worth 25 million euros, plus future bonuses, from Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise. After lengthy negotiations, Inter secured the deal by improving their previous 20 million euro offer, which Union had rejected. Halaily has already agreed on personal terms with Inter, reportedly signing a five-year contract worth 2 million euros per season, pending medical tests.

Inter entered the transfer race relatively late but outbid Napoli, who had been in prolonged talks with both Halaily and Union. Maccabi Haifa, Halaily's former club before his move to Belgium, will receive 3.5 million euros from the transfer. Halaily concluded the 2025/26 season as one of Union's standout players, transitioning from an attacking winger to a versatile right-sided player capable of playing as a right-back. He made 46 appearances across all competitions, scoring six goals and providing five assists, including three goals in seven Champions League matches, notably a brace against Marseille.

Halaily joined Union Saint-Gilloise in summer 2024 from Maccabi Haifa and quickly became one of Europe's most sought-after talents. His performances, especially in the Champions League, impressed Inter's management, leading to this major career step. At Inter, Halaily will compete for a spot in coach Christian Kibu's lineup, with the club confident his versatility and potential will make him a key squad member in the coming years.
