Inter Milan Raises Offer for Israeli Defender Anan Khalaily to Record Transfer Bid

Inter Milan has submitted an improved offer of 23 million euros to Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise for Israeli defender Anan Khalaily, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio De Martino. This new bid surpasses Inter's previous 20 million euro offer but remains below Union Saint-Gilloise's asking price of around 30 million euros. Khalaily has already agreed to personal terms with Inter, expected to sign a contract until 2031 with an annual salary of approximately 1.8 million euros. The transfer hinges on reaching an agreement between the two clubs.

If completed, this deal would set a new record for the highest transfer fee paid for an Israeli player, surpassing the current record of 17 million euros paid by Sevilla for Munas Dabbur in 2019. Inter views Khalaily as a potential replacement for Denzel Dumfries, who is expected to leave for Real Madrid this summer. Khalaily is anticipated to compete for playing time on the wing in Inter's three-center-back formation, alongside Brazilian Luis Henrique.

Khalaily joined Union Saint-Gilloise in the summer of 2024 from Maccabi Haifa for 6.5 million euros. In the last season, he made 52 appearances for the Belgian club, scoring six goals and providing six assists. The transfer saga continues as both clubs negotiate the final terms.
