Maccabi Haifa Nets Record Profit from Anan Khalaily Transfer to Inter Milan
Maccabi Haifa has achieved the highest profit ever recorded in Israeli football from the transfer of Anan Khalaily to Inter Milan. The deal, valued at 25 million euros, sets a new record both for the player’s transfer fee and the income generated for Maccabi Haifa. Khalaily was initially sold to Belgian club Sint-Truiden for 6.5 million euros. Under the terms of the transfer, Haifa will receive 15% of the profit from Khalaily’s subsequent sale, amounting to 2.77 million euros, plus solidarity payments totaling 3.46 million euros. In total, Maccabi Haifa will earn 9.96 million euros from Khalaily’s transfers, combining the initial sale and subsequent fees.
This exit surpasses previous records held by players such as Daniel Peretz and Oscar Gloukh. Khalaily’s 25 million euro transfer fee also breaks the previous Israeli record set by Munas Dabbur, who moved from Salzburg to Sevilla for 17 million euros. Other notable high-value transfers include Oscar Gloukh’s 14.75 million euro move to Ajax and Eyal Berkovic’s 8.8 million euro transfer to Celtic.
The list of the highest earnings by Israeli clubs from player sales is led by Maccabi Haifa with Khalaily’s 9.96 million euros, followed by Maccabi Tel Aviv with Oscar Gloukh at 7.3 million euros and Eran Zahavi at 7.23 million euros. This landmark deal highlights the growing financial impact of Israeli players in European football and sets a new benchmark for future transfers.
