Inter Milan Completes Record-Breaking €25 Million Signing of Israeli Star Anan Khalaily
Inter Milan has finalized the transfer of Israeli winger Anan Khalaily from Union Saint-Gilloise for approximately €25 million plus future bonuses, making him the most expensive Israeli footballer ever. Khalaily is expected to earn around €1.8 million per season. In the coming days, he will travel to Italy for medical examinations before officially signing with the European runner-up club.
This transfer surpasses the previous Israeli record of about €17 million, set in 2019 when Munas Dabbur moved from Red Bull Salzburg to Sevilla. Inter views Khalaily as a long-term investment and a key future player. Napoli had also attempted to sign him with a €20 million offer, which Union Saint-Gilloise rejected before Inter entered with a higher bid and secured the deal.
Maccabi Haifa, Khalaily's youth club, will also benefit financially, holding 15% of his future sale rights. They stand to gain approximately €3.75 million from this transfer, adding to the €7.5 million they received when he moved to Belgium two years ago, totaling around €11.25 million in earnings from the player.
Khalaily, who played one senior season at Maccabi Haifa before moving to Belgium, continues his impressive career progression by joining one of Europe's top football clubs.
