Inter Milan Nears €20 Million Deal for Israeli Winger Anan Khalaily

Inter Milan is close to finalizing a €20 million transfer deal for Israeli winger Anan Khalaily from Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise, according to Italian transfer journalist Nicolo Shira. The deal is expected to be completed this week, with Inter reportedly pushing to close the agreement before bonuses. Khalaily, 21, did not feature in Union Saint-Gilloise's recent match against Steaua Bucharest, signaling progress in the negotiations. Previously, he played and scored in a preparatory game.

Shira had earlier reported a preliminary agreement on Khalaily's personal terms with Inter, including a long-term contract until 2031 worth €1.8 million per season. On Friday, Italian media revealed Inter had submitted an official offer to Union Saint-Gilloise, and by Saturday, the two clubs had reportedly moved closer to a deal. Khalaily joined Union Saint-Gilloise from Maccabi Haifa in summer 2024 for approximately €7.5 million and quickly established himself as a promising talent in Europe after winning the Belgian league and performing in the Champions League.

In recent weeks, Khalaily was linked with Napoli, but Inter Milan emerged as the frontrunner. Inter's sporting director, Piero Ausilio, confirmed last Monday that Khalaily was under close observation along with several other players, with scouting and coaching staff evaluating the best option. Khalaily scored six goals and provided six assists in 52 appearances last season for Union Saint-Gilloise, including three Champions League goals, notably a brace against Marseille and a winning goal against Atalanta.

The transfer would mark a significant step for Khalaily, who is also an Israeli national team player, as he prepares to join the reigning Italian champions.
