Inter Milan Nears Deal to Sign Anan Khalaili from Belgian Club Union SG

Inter Milan is close to finalizing the transfer of Israeli winger Anan Khalaili from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise, according to Italian media reports on July 5, 2026. Journalist Nicolò Schira revealed that Khalaili has already agreed to personal terms with Inter, signing a contract until 2031 with an annual salary of 1.8 million euros. The remaining hurdle is reaching an agreement on the transfer fee with Union SG, who are asking for 25 million euros, while Inter has offered around 20 million euros.

Khalaili, 21, completed the 2025/26 season as one of Union SG's standout players, transitioning from an attacking winger to a versatile right-back. He made 46 appearances across all competitions, scoring six goals and providing five assists. Notably, he scored three goals in seven UEFA Champions League matches, including a brace against Marseille in December. His adaptability and potential have attracted interest from several clubs, including Newcastle, Benfica, and Napoli, with Napoli reportedly close to signing him before negotiations stalled over the fee.

Inter entered the race late in June, with head coach Christian Cibo viewing Khalaili as a key reinforcement for the right flank after the departure of Denzel Dumfries to Real Madrid. Italian journalist Marco Vacella described Khalaili as a promising talent capable of playing multiple positions, fitting well into Inter's flexible tactical system. The club is pushing to complete the deal within the week, signaling a strong intent to secure the young Israeli's services soon.
