Israel Halts Drone Use for 48 Hours After Soldier Deaths
The commander of the Ground Forces has ordered a 48-hour suspension of the use of attack drones following a serious incident in the Gaza Strip combat zone. The incident resulted in the deaths of Sergeant Major (res.) Nadav Keli and Sergeant Major (res.) Ofek Moalem. This measure is described as a precaution, with a reassessment to occur after the 48-hour period.
Concurrently, IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir has directed the formation of an expert team, led by a brigadier general from the Ground Forces. This team will investigate the circumstances of the incident and formulate conclusions aimed at preventing similar occurrences in the future. The final conclusions of the incident investigation have not yet been released.
