Two Israeli Reservists Killed in Gaza Drone Incident
Two Israeli reservists were killed in the Gaza Strip when a drone exploded at a military post near Beit Hanoun. The incident occurred while the soldiers, identified as 24-year-old Staff Sgt. Nadav Kali from Har Halutz and 23-year-old Staff Sgt. Ofek Moalem from Jerusalem, both serving in the 7007th Battalion of the 16th Brigade, were operating drones. According to the publication Calcalist, the first drone completed its mission successfully, but the second crashed on the post for unknown reasons. When the reservists approached the downed drone, it detonated. Emergency medical assistance was provided at the scene, and the soldiers were evacuated by helicopter to an Israeli medical facility in critical condition, where they were pronounced dead. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the incident and stated that a thorough investigation is underway. Military specialists are examining all potential causes, including technical malfunctions or communication system failures that could have led to the detonation.
