IDF Investigates Fatal Gaza Safety Incident, Names Fallen Reservists
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Thursday that two reservist soldiers, Sergeant Major (Res.) Nadav Kali and Sergeant Major (Res.) Ofek Moalem, were killed in a serious safety incident in the Gaza Strip combat zone on Wednesday. In response to the fatalities, IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Aviv Kochavi has ordered the formation of an expert team to investigate the circumstances surrounding the event.
The investigation team will be led by a Brigadier General from the Ground Forces and is tasked with examining the incident to prevent similar occurrences in the future. The IDF has not yet released further details regarding the nature of the safety incident.
