Israel Sees Local Rains After Heatwave, More Expected

Following a period of hot weather, local rains have begun falling across northern and central Israel, according to the Israel Meteorological Service. The heaviest rainfall recorded so far has been in the northern Golan Heights, with up to 10 mm measured in Al-Rom. Other locations in the north also reported significant amounts, including 7 mm in Manara in the Upper Galilee and 6 mm in Kfar Giladi. The Hula Valley and Kibbutz Dafna received 5 mm.

Rains are also affecting the Jerusalem Hills, sometimes intensely. The Meteorological Service stated that the rain system is expected to continue impacting various parts of the country in the coming hours, with precipitation likely to persist until at least the afternoon, concentrating inland.

Southern coastal areas have seen lighter rainfall, with 3-4 mm recorded, including 3.5 mm in Yad Mordechai.
