Israeli Arab Man Arrested for Espionage for Lebanese Agent
Israeli police and the Shin Bet security agency announced the arrest of 32-year-old Hamdan Hamdan, a resident of Majd al-Krum. He is suspected of communicating with a foreign agent from Lebanon and carrying out security-related tasks on their instructions.
According to investigators, Hamdan maintained contact with a woman from Lebanon for several months, allegedly aware that she was a foreign agent. She reportedly assigned him various tasks.
Investigators also found that attempts were made to indirectly pay Hamdan for his services, with the foreign entity purchasing goods for him within Israel and delivering them. A statement of charges is expected to be filed on Sunday, September 20.
Police and the Shin Bet reiterated their warning to Israelis against contacting unknown individuals or representatives of enemy states, including through social media.
