Toddler Critically Injured After Falling Four Stories in Kiryat Yam
A toddler, approximately two years old, fell four stories in Kiryat Yam on Thursday morning and was critically injured. Emergency medical responders performed resuscitation efforts on the child at the scene before transporting him to Rambam Hospital in Haifa. Magen David Adom paramedic Moshe Amsalem described the scene as "difficult," stating the child was unconscious, without a pulse or breathing. "We immediately began medical treatment including chest compressions, ventilation, and medication, and evacuated him in a mobile intensive care unit," Amsalem said, adding that they were "continuing to fight for his life."
United Hatzalah EMT David Zar reported finding the child unconscious with a severe head injury after the fall. He, along with Magen David Adom paramedics, administered advanced resuscitation, including chest compressions, ventilation, and electric shocks. The child was evacuated to the trauma room at Rambam Hospital while resuscitation efforts continued.
