Indictment Filed in Brutal Murder of Young Boy in Jerusalem

Prosecutors have filed an indictment against Liel Ifargan, 26, from Beit Shemesh, for the murder of Hillel Mordechai Daddoun, who was killed last month. The indictment, submitted to the Jerusalem District Court, details the horrific events that transpired.

According to the charges, Ifargan emerged from a nearby housing unit where he resides, armed with a knife. He entered the yard of the home where two children were playing in an inflatable pool and attacked them. Ifargan allegedly stabbed Hillel in the chest and his cousin in the neck, with the intent to kill.

Following the attack, Ifargan fled back to his unit and cleaned the knife of blood. Hillel sustained a fatal chest wound, while his cousin suffered a severe neck injury, requiring immediate surgery, intubation, and a three-day hospitalization. The indictment charges Ifargan with murder under aggravating circumstances, attempted murder, and causing severe injury under aggravating circumstances.

The prosecution stated, "We share in the deep sorrow of the family of Hillel Mordechai Daddoun, may he rest in peace, and wish for the full recovery of his cousin. It is difficult to grasp the gap between the innocent play of two children in a pool and the defendant's decision to arm himself with a knife and take their lives. The indictment filed today expresses the exceptional severity of the acts attributed to the defendant and the severe and irreversible outcome they led to."

Ifargan is scheduled for a hearing regarding the extension of his remand.
