Man Indicted for Murdering 7-Year-Old Boy, Attempting to Kill Cousin

Prosecutors have filed a severe indictment against Liel Ifargan, a 26-year-old resident of Beit Shemesh, for the murder of 7-year-old Hillel Mordechai Dadon and the attempted murder of Hillel's 5-year-old cousin, Ray Hanan Alon. The indictment alleges that Ifargan, armed with a knife, entered the yard where the two boys were playing in an inflatable pool and stabbed them with the intent to kill. Hillel sustained a fatal chest wound, while Ray was stabbed in the neck and required hospitalization for three days after surgery.

According to the investigation, Ifargan had visited the residence hours before the attack and had a brief conversation with the homeowner before returning to his own nearby dwelling. He then allegedly returned later with a knife and committed the stabbing. Following the attack, Ifargan reportedly fled back to his unit and cleaned the knife of blood.

The indictment charges Ifargan with murder under aggravating circumstances, attempted murder, and causing severe injury under aggravating circumstances. The prosecution has requested that Ifargan be held in custody until the conclusion of legal proceedings.

Ray's parents, Linoy and Shlomi Alon, recounted the traumatic event to N12. Shlomi described hearing screams and finding Hillel injured, while Ray, despite his own wound, was able to identify the attacker. "Thanks to his resourcefulness in telling what happened, the suspect was arrested," Shlomi stated, adding that his son's account might have prevented further attacks.

Ifargan, who lives near the victims' family, was arrested shortly after the incident and underwent a psychiatric evaluation. The prosecution expressed the difficulty in comprehending the act, stating, "It is hard to grasp the gap between the innocent play of two children in a pool and the defendant's decision to arm himself with a knife and take their lives."
