Indictment Filed in Brutal Killing of 7-Year-Old Boy in Beit Shemesh

Israel's State Prosecution has filed a murder indictment against Liel Ifargan, 26, from Beit Shemesh, for the aggravated murder of 7-year-old Hillel Mordechai Dadon and the attempted murder of his cousin. The indictment details how Ifargan, armed with a knife, emerged from his dwelling and entered a neighboring yard where the two boys were playing in an inflatable pool. He then approached the pool and stabbed Hillel in the chest and his cousin in the neck, intending to kill them. Ifargan fled back to his residence and cleaned the knife. Hillel sustained fatal chest wounds, while his cousin suffered severe neck injuries, requiring hospitalization and surgery. The prosecution has requested that Ifargan be held in custody until the legal proceedings conclude. The indictment charges Ifargan with aggravated murder, attempted murder, and causing severe aggravated injury. The prosecution stated, "We share in the deep sorrow of Hillel Mordechai Dadon's family and wish for the full recovery of his cousin. It is difficult to grasp the gap between the innocent play of two children in a pool and the defendant's decision to arm himself with a knife and take their lives. The indictment filed today expresses the exceptional severity of the acts attributed to the defendant and the severe and irreversible outcome they led to."
