Indictment Filed Against Suspect in Killing of 7-Year-Old Boy

An indictment is set to be filed today against Liel Ifargan, who is suspected of murdering 7-year-old Hillel Mordechai D'adoun and seriously injuring his 4-year-old cousin in the city of Beit Shemesh. Ifargan was arrested shortly after the incident near the scene, with the motive remaining unclear. He resides in a nearby home, which he rents from the victim's grandmother. The knife believed to have been used in the stabbings has been recovered, and investigators suspect Ifargan washed it after the attack. Before his arrest, he reportedly changed his shirt and was on his way to change his pants when apprehended by police. Sources indicate a growing suspicion that Ifargan was under the influence of drugs at the time of the murders.

The tragic event unfolded last month when the two children were found critically injured. Hillel Mordechai D'adoun was later pronounced dead, while his 4-year-old cousin's condition improved from critical to moderate. The children were discovered by the father of one of them, who found them in an inflatable pool filled with blood. Police later emptied the pool. The victim was returning home where his family was organizing a surprise party for him, and his injured cousin had arrived to play with him.

Police investigation suggests Ifargan was in the vicinity of the apartment for several hours before the attack, engaging in a brief conversation with the homeowner. He then returned to his residence before allegedly coming back hours later, encountering the children, and stabbing them.
