Man Indicted for Murder of 7-Year-Old Boy in Beit Shemesh

The State Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against Liel Ifargan, a 26-year-old resident of Beit Shemesh, for the aggravated murder of Hillel Mordechai D'adoun and the attempted murder of his cousin. The indictment comes approximately one month after the stabbing incident in Beit Shemesh, where the two children were attacked while playing in a backyard pool.

According to the indictment, filed by attorney Yael Igra, the two boys were playing in an inflatable pool on an afternoon last month. Ifargan emerged from a nearby housing unit where he resides, armed with a knife. He entered the yard, approached the pool, and stabbed Hillel in the chest and his cousin in the neck with the intent to kill. He then fled back to his unit and cleaned the knife.

Hillel sustained a severe chest injury and later died at the hospital. His cousin suffered a neck wound, experienced active bleeding, and after being rushed to surgery, was sedated, ventilated, and hospitalized for three days. Ifargan is charged with murder with aggravating circumstances, attempted murder, and causing severe injury with aggravating circumstances.

The prosecution is requesting that the court order Ifargan's detention until the legal proceedings against him are concluded. The Prosecutor's Office expressed condolences to Hillel's family and wished his cousin a full recovery, stating that the indictment reflects the exceptional severity of the alleged acts and their tragic, irreversible outcome.
