Israel Police Launch Nationwide Road Safety Operation
The Israel Police announced a large-scale, nationwide enforcement operation scheduled for Wednesday, commencing early morning and continuing late into the night. The operation will target major highways and urban areas across the country, from north to south.
The intensified enforcement will focus on high-impact roads and will strictly address dangerous driving behaviors, including "road bullying" and life-threatening traffic violations. Special attention will be given to new drivers, drivers of heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses, and motorcyclists.
All units of the Traffic Division will participate, including the National Motorcycle Patrol, Traffic Police, and the Heavy Vehicle Unit, which is unique in Israel and will be deployed along Highway 6. The Enforcement Instrumentation Department, responsible for digital enforcement reports, will also be involved.
The operation will utilize aerial surveillance, including drones, to document dangerous traffic offenses from above. Hundreds of police officers, patrol cars, and many volunteers will be deployed to participate in this life-saving effort on the roads.
