Israel Police Announce Widespread Traffic Enforcement Operation

Drivers across Israel are warned of increased traffic enforcement starting early tomorrow morning and continuing through late night. The operation, led by the Israel Police Traffic Division in cooperation with all district traffic units, will cover both inter-city and urban roads nationwide.

The enforcement will focus on life-threatening traffic violations and "road bullying," targeting specific high-risk roads identified by the Traffic Division's research and development department. Special attention will be given to new drivers, heavy vehicle operators (trucks, buses, transport vehicles), and motorcyclists.

The police emphasized that the operation's goal is decisive, life-saving enforcement against dangerous violations. All traffic division units, including the national motorcycle patrol, national traffic police, and the heavy vehicle unit, will participate. The heavy vehicle unit will be deployed along Highway 6. The enforcement instruments division will also be involved, utilizing digital enforcement methods.

Aerial surveillance will be employed, with the police air unit documenting dangerous traffic offenses from above, supplemented by drone usage. Hundreds of police officers, patrol cars, and many volunteers will be deployed across the country. Various enforcement tools will be utilized, including still cameras, tactical cameras, laser speed detectors, and A3 speed cameras.

This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to curb road fatalities and is linked to the "Committed to Life" national program, a joint effort between the Traffic Division and the National Road Safety Authority aimed at reducing road deaths. Additional traffic patrol cars have been added to Israeli roads as part of this program.
