Police Launch Widespread Enforcement Operation on Israeli Roads

Beginning early Wednesday morning and continuing late into the night, Israeli police will conduct an intensified enforcement operation across the country, targeting both intercity and urban roads from north to south. The operation, focused on key traffic arteries identified by the Traffic Division's research and development department, aims to combat dangerous driving behaviors and life-threatening traffic violations. Special attention will be given to 'new drivers,' operators of heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses, and motorcyclists.

The nationwide effort will involve all units of the Traffic Division, including the National Motorcycle Patrol, National Traffic Police, and the Heavy Vehicle Unit, which will be deployed along Highway 6. The Enforcement Equipment Department will also participate, utilizing digital enforcement methods. The aerial unit of the Israel Police will provide aerial surveillance to document traffic offenses, supplemented by drone operations.

Hundreds of police officers and patrol cars, alongside numerous volunteers, will be stationed throughout the country. Enforcement will employ a range of technologies, including still cameras, tactical cameras, laser speed measurement devices, and speed cameras (A3). The operation is described as a life-saving initiative aimed at deterring reckless driving.
