Traffic Police Launch Nationwide Enforcement Operation to Curb Road Fatalities

Starting early tomorrow morning and continuing late into the night, Israel's Traffic Division, in coordination with police districts, will conduct a large-scale enforcement operation across the country. The operation, spanning from the north to the south, will focus on roads identified by the Traffic Division's research and development department as high-impact.

The enforcement will target dangerous driving offenses and "life-threatening" traffic violations, with a particular focus on new drivers, heavy vehicle operators (trucks, buses, and transport vehicles), and motorcyclists. Hundreds of police officers, volunteers, and patrol cars will participate, supported by specialized units including the national motorcycle patrol, national traffic police, a heavy vehicle unit deployed along Highway 6, and an enforcement equipment unit responsible for digital ticketing.

Aerial support will be provided by the air unit using drones, while ground operations will employ various tools such as speed cameras, tactical cameras, still cameras, and laser speed guns. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to reduce road fatalities and is conducted in collaboration with the National Road Safety Authority under the "Committed to Life" program, a joint national plan that has already added traffic patrol units nationwide.
