Nationwide Road Safety Operation Deploys Hundreds of Officers, Drones

Israel's Traffic Division is launching a large-scale, nationwide enforcement operation on roads across the country, set to run from early morning until late night. The operation will cover both intercity highways and urban streets, from the northern border to the southern tip of Israel.

The primary focus will be on life-threatening traffic violations and aggressive driving behaviors. Special attention will be given to new drivers, operators of heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses, and motorcyclists.

Hundreds of police officers, patrol cars, and volunteers will be deployed on the ground. They will be supported by advanced technology, including drones, speed cameras, and other enforcement tools. The Air Unit of the police will also be involved, documenting traffic offenses from the air.

The operation will target roads identified as "influential roads" by the division's research and development department. All units within the Traffic Division, including the National Motorcycle Patrol and National Traffic Police, will participate. A dedicated unit for heavy vehicles will be stationed along Highway 6, and a measurement instrumentation unit will utilize digital enforcement methods.

This extensive effort aims to significantly increase enforcement and deter dangerous driving practices throughout Israel.
