Israeli Police Launch Major Road Safety Enforcement Operation
Israeli police will deploy hundreds of officers, volunteers, and patrol cars across the country on Wednesday for a large-scale traffic enforcement operation. The "influential roads" initiative, identified by the traffic division's research and development department, will focus on preventing life-threatening traffic violations. The operation will target motorcyclists, new drivers, and operators of heavy vehicles, including trucks and buses, with enhanced surveillance from early morning until late night.
The traffic division's various branches, including the national traffic police, the national motorcycle patrol, and the enforcement equipment unit responsible for digital tickets, will participate. The heavy vehicle unit will specifically oversee Highway 6. Police will utilize a range of technological tools, such as still cameras, tactical cameras, laser speed guns, and A3 speed measurement systems. Additionally, the police's air unit and drone array will monitor traffic offenses from the air.
