Israel Launches Nationwide Road Safety Operation with Hundreds of Officers

Israel's Traffic Division is set to conduct a large-scale, nationwide enforcement operation on roads across the country, running from early morning until late night. The operation will cover both intercity highways and urban streets, from the northern to the southern borders.

The primary focus will be on life-threatening traffic violations and "road bullying" offenses. Special attention will be given to new drivers, operators of heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses, and motorcyclists.

Hundreds of police officers, patrol cars, and volunteers will be deployed on the ground. They will be supported by advanced technology, including drones, speed cameras, and other enforcement tools. The Traffic Division has identified specific "influential roads" for concentrated enforcement based on research and development data.

All units within the Traffic Division, including the National Motorcycle Patrol and National Traffic Police, will participate. A dedicated unit for heavy vehicles will be stationed along Highway 6, and a measurement and enforcement equipment unit will utilize digital enforcement methods. The police air unit will also be active, documenting traffic violations from the air using drones, still cameras, tactical cameras, and speed measurement devices.
