Israel Police Launch Nationwide Traffic Enforcement Operation
The Israel Police will significantly increase traffic enforcement across the country on Wednesday, deploying hundreds of officers and patrol cars to pre-determined locations on both intercity and urban roads. The operation, which will run from early morning until late at night, aims to combat dangerous driving offenses.
The enforcement will include a special focus on aggressive driving, as well as violations committed by new drivers, heavy vehicle operators, and motorcyclists. All traffic department units, including the national motorcycle patrol, national traffic police, and the heavy vehicle unit operating along Highway 6, will participate.
Adding an aerial dimension, the police air unit and drones will monitor traffic violations from above, documenting offenses that endanger lives. Various technological tools, including still cameras, tactical cameras, laser speed detectors, and other digital means, will be utilized for enforcement.
This nationwide operation is being conducted in conjunction with the National Road Safety Authority, which has also increased the number of traffic patrols on Israeli roads.
