Man Arrested for Allegedly Attempting to Murder Brother in Jerusalem
Jerusalem police have arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of attempting to murder his brother by intentionally throwing him into a buried garbage container in the Gilo neighborhood. Emergency and rescue forces worked for over an hour to extract the victim, who suffers from a psychological disability, before he was transported to the hospital. His condition is described as moderate.
Investigators from the Moriah police station in the Jerusalem district gathered evidence and recordings that strengthened the suspicion that the act was deliberate. The suspect was detained for questioning on suspicion of attempted murder.
He is scheduled to appear before the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court today, where a request to extend his detention will be considered.
