Man Arrested for Allegedly Imprisoning Brother in Buried Trash Bin
A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to murder his brother, who was found trapped inside a buried trash bin in Jerusalem's Gilo neighborhood. Emergency services rescued the victim from the bin and transported him to the hospital in moderate condition.
Authorities suspect the victim, who reportedly struggles with mental health issues, asked to enter the trash bin. His two brothers allegedly accompanied him, assisted him in getting inside, closed the bin, and then left the scene.
Police from the Moriah station launched an investigation, gathering evidence and footage. This led to the arrest of one brother, aged 28, on suspicion of attempted murder. The second brother, a minor, was not arrested.
The suspect is currently being questioned, and is expected to appear before the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court today for a hearing on the police's request to extend his detention.
